From the early days, our main source of income has been from a very successful competition ticket, which has been presented to the public when conducting collections at various locations including supermarkets, shopping centres and department stores. Although this will remain a sizeable source of funds, we do hope to build, with your help, other income streams, including events such as those below, giving the charity a reliable and sustainable income and enabling us to plan ahead and help more children as a result.
Our dedicated team of fundraisers is continually striving to identify new sources of funding for Children's Hope Foundation, such as the sponsorship of projects by companies, donations |
from charitable trusts and partnerships with other like-minded organisations.
Many new fundraising ideas have been developed as a result. As yet, however, there is no network of Children's Hope Foundation branches around the country. If you would like to offer your help to raise money for Children's hope Foundation we will give you all the asistance you need, from the charity's headquarters in London. of course, if you have the time and determination to start up and run a fundraising branch for us in your area, we will be delighted to meet you to discuss how best we can help you.

| The Little Angels Candle-Lit Ball |
|
We think Children's Hope Foundation supporters should have fun while they are raising money for us, so we aim to offer a variety of events to appeal to a wide range of people. The happiness on our supporters' face at fundraising events is mirrored over and over again in the faces of children helped by Children's Hope Foundation.

This again is becoming a regular fixture for the people of the North-East. Held in the salubrious surroundings of Lumley Castle, the ball is proving an ever more popular event, attracting support from companies, individuals and the local media. The last ball attracted 80 guests who danced the night away surrounded by the trappings of a medeival castle. The event was sponsored by Camelot plc and helped to raise £6.000 for Children's Hope foundation and the Scanner of Hope Appeal. |
| The Hope for Children Gala Luncheon |

| Start and Stripes Spectacular |
|
Our Gala Luncheon is fast becoming a fixture in many people's diaries. The last Hope for Children Luncheon saw 250 guests enjoy spectacular entertainment followed by a fabulous lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the Crystal Rooms of the Mayfair Inter-Continental Hotel. Almost £30.000 was raised on that occasion to help the many beneficiaries awaiting assistance from the charity. Prizes for the raffle and auction were donated by companies and individuals alike. Other companies and individuals provided equally important but less glamorous help by printing the souvenir brochure, supplying flowers or contributing to the catering. |
Held on the 4th of July in the grounds in front of Lumley Castle. This event was extremely well attended despite very inclement weather. The event was a tremendous success and added greatly to the funds of the charity and the Scanner of Hope Appeal. Already a major company is considering sponsoring the event next year.
Children's Hope Foundation supporters have arranged a wide variety of events all over the world to raise money for us, including dances, shows, pantomimes and dinners. Our super-fit supporters have run in marathons including the Great north Run and worked out in aerobathons. Children's Hope foundation is grateful to to acknowledge the support of so many individuals and firms who have organised so many different events for us. If you would like to organise an event, such as a dinner or golf day, please let us know and we will help in the best way we can.

| The Toughest Race in the World |
|
Daniel Bonnallack knew exactly what he was doing, although his friends thought him mad, when he decided to run the equivalent of five and a half marathons under the intense Sahara sun. Daniel joined over 350 runners including his father to run 225 kilometers across the Moroccan desert over seven nights. His main motivating factor was the charity. Daniel's aim was to raise £12.5000 fro the charity and having finished in 67th place we have to wish him a big thank you and well done on behalf of the charity. Your fundraising effort for the charity does not have to be quite so demanding or gruelling and we're sure it could be equally successful in raising much needed funds. |

You may have read a little about the Scanner of Hope Appeal. The appeal has been very successful and we have achieved the target of £150.000 for the Ultrasound Colour Scanner. Spurred on by the magnificent local response, after a campaign by the Sunderland Echo newspaper, Children's Hope Foundation is now planning further locally based appeals in other areas of the country. Children's Hope Foundation has also contributed £4,996 to the Bubble appeal.

Apart from the grants made to individuals or the equipment supplied, much of the work we undertake is both an expensive and on-going commitment. In order to ensure that we see such commitments through, funds raised for such purposes are held in restricted funds. This means that although shown within our accounts, they have already been allocated to specific projects. Since we are almoat daily called upon for, in many cases, urgent need and are continually identifying new projects which require urgent support, there is a constant need for additional funds. This is made the more necessary with the constant receipt of more and more applications for assistance. If you would like more information about any of the work of the Children's Hope Foundation or any of the projects or indeed would like to sponsor one or more of our children, please let us know. Also, please let us know if there is a child, school or project you would like to nominate. |
